Comment by GuyThaLizard on January 11, 2013 at 12:49pm Awesome Glenn! Looking forward to seeing some of your winter paddle trips. If you haven't seen it yet check out my kayaking videos at http://www.youtube.com/guythalizardvideos
We picked up some "Pogies" for our paddles a little while ago and wow do they make a difference. They velcro onto the paddles and heep your hands dry and warm. I find them handy for snapping photos while paddling. http://youtu.be/cjLAigHFQfE
Comment by Glenn Rogers on January 11, 2013 at 12:26pm I am gonna start looking for some cold weather gear............
Comment by GuyThaLizard on January 10, 2013 at 5:23pm I do short paddle trips in the winter. I usually wear a wetsuit now with polar fleece pants and shirt. With windbreaker type rainpants and jacket on top. Last year i didnt have the wetsuit but found one in perfect condition at valuevillage about a month ago for $14.00 couldn't resist. Footwear, waterproof socks with heavy socks under them then neoprene boots ($40.00 at Canadian Tire). I stay relatively close to shore when the water is cold. You know what they say.. Where there is a will there is a way.
Hope you find some gear soon so you can enjoy the off season paddling time.
