I've been surf kayaking for 13 years. Folly Beach is my local break but I surf other places too. Come down sometime and go surfing. I have extra boats you could use.

Sorry, didn't see your comment until today. I don't check this board too often. I really have paddled a hollowed out log on the Amazon...the kingpin is better. I am training in a long boat for the Phatwater Kayak Challenge, Oct 11. Feels like a hollow log after a few hours of paddling.

Hi Hannah, unfortunately I now live in Fla so I won't make it this year but I can promise you it's a blast, no rapids in Fla but alot rivers,lakes and scenery hopefully I can post some pics soon

What inspired me? Geocaching, is what inspired me. I went rafting last year to get a cache from an island and fell in love with the water in a new way. There are so many geocaches that require you to have a water device to retrieve and I love the water. I love the sound, the feel and the beauty of it. I want to learn how to kayak so I can spend more time and get the benfits of the exercise that comes with it.
