SOLD!
I've got a Tempest for sale in Southern California. It's in VERY good condition, having only been in the water a handful of times (less than 5-6). I simply don't use it. My wife and I paddle our Wilderness Systems tandem a lot, but I just don't use this kayak much. We're moving to a smaller place, and I've got to downsize the fleet a little.
This is an awesome sea kayak, especially for those of us who are slightly bigger than average. I'm a former instructor and guide, and I've paddled nearly every sea kayak I could squeeze into, including some I probably shouldn't have. When it came time to buy a kayak, this is the one I chose. It's more than capable of anything you'd throw at it, and it handles every kind of conditions I've taken it out in. it's an awesome boat, and I'm sad to see it go, but I gotta make some hard choices.
It does have one small, less than a quarter sized repair. I managed to find one sharp rock on a big sandy beach. But it's been carefully repaired and you'd be hard pressed to find the repair if I didn't point it out.
I'm asking $1500 firm. Retail price is well over $3000. I can include a skirt, and will sell an inexpensive paddle with it for $50.
I'll consider trades for a high end road bike with a 54-55 cm frame.

Comment by Geoff Jennings on September 10, 2012 at 7:52pm Sorry Dave. I sold it. Wish I hadn't. Definately had some serious sellers remorse as life has changed a bit and I'd probably be paddling it now. Great boat.
Comment by Dave Martin on September 10, 2012 at 7:38pm Also new to forum. Any chance this boat is still available?

Comment by Geoff Jennings on November 10, 2011 at 4:34pm I'd never even heard of it before you mentioned it. Google'd it, it looks like a cool design, but I have no experience.

Have you had any experience with a Barracuda Beachcomber Ultralight ?
Comment by Geoff Jennings on November 9, 2011 at 10:46am You're probably thinking of Southwind Kayaks, in Irvine. I've also worked with the River Store in Coloma, CA
