Profile Information

What kind of Paddling are you into?: Sit-on-top Kayaks, Flatwater (Lakes and mellow rivers), Fishing Kayaks

What boats do you own? (kayaks, canoes, rafts, etc.): WIlderness Systems Tarpon 140, Tarpon 160

Favorite place to paddle?: Galveston Bay

Most memorable paddle?: Night kayak fishing trip at Tiki Island. It was dark, quiet, a little creepy - one of the lagoons reminded me of the scene in Jaws where the fisherman gets his boat upset in the night. But there were jellyfish everywhere and everytime you took a paddle stroke they'd get stirred up and they'd start emitting purple bioluminescence. It was one of the neatest things I've ever seen. And we caught quite a few speckled trout and redfish that night too.

How long have you been paddling?: 1-3 year

I picked up my new T-160 this morning. She's a beauty - slender, graceful, and looks like a fish-catching machine. I'm getting her all rigged before I take a pic, but I hope to have her out by Wednesday.

Hello

I didn't know this site had a place to blog. That's kinda neat. This whole site has changed in the few weeks since I found it. I'm enjoing it so far, just with there were more fishing folks here. I'm sure that will change with time, it looks like this place is just starting.

I think I'll write my fishing reports here, time of day, temps, bait, etc. I'll even write location until I get potlicked. No potlickers allowed. Update: On July 25, 2011 someone posted a link to my blog… Continue

I've moved back to LA, and went into a shop I worked at for years, but hadn't been in in 3 years or so. 40% of the shop is fishing kayaks! We might have had a few rod holders when I was there. The manager told me that fishing kayaks and kayakers were what was keeping the store afloat....
