"Go kevlar or traditional.   A skin-on-frame is down to 30-some pounds.  Not sure what your price point or destinations are, so good luck."

Authorities had not located the owner of the kayak as of Friday night, and the search to resume Saturday.UPDATED Saturday - The incident remains under investigation after the kayaker was located, unresponsive, on the lake.Searchers reported high winds with gusts of 30 to 35 along with 6 to 8 foot waves. My thoughts and prayers to the family and friends.See More

Hi Faith,
Sorry my comment was a bit terse. Many of my friends also sent me this video. Since we are in Orca country it caught our attention. There is a cool website www.snopes.com that tackles hoaxes and urban myths. Go to the sight and type in orca in the search box. They have a report on this video. Take Care

Thank you for the comment. The paddlepac uses inflatable pontoons (made by Jacks Plastic Welding) with a wood/aluminum deck (48"x32") and aluminum connecting arms. It connects to the user with a belt that has a quick release buckle. The entire unit will disassemble and fit in a storage/carrying bag. I should have the paddlepac for sale on ebay within a few weeks. You may go to paddlepac.com to see my prototype, the retail model will have a larger deck and larger pontoons.
Thank you again for your comment.

I needed a new cockpit cover and when reviewed the products, I decided on Seals brand. When I went to purchase, it does not show the sizes in length/width. I reviewed the Seals page and fitting is precise and goes by the make and model of the craft. Well, having had my kayak for a few years, my model was not listed. In the contact page Seals say they will contact you within 24 hours - and they DID!!! My kudos goes out to their biz and crew for a fine job!!! http://www.sealsskirts.com/index.html
