My SIK's and SOT
I bought my first kayak early last summer (2007) a Pelican "Burst" SOT (Sit-On-Top) and my life has never been the same. I began kayaking everyday till October of last year. I think I am addicted! During the winter of (07) I found some secondhand kayaks (both were SIK's "Sit-In-Kayaks") in the paper the two for $600.00 and just had to buy them one was a Coleman Renegade and the other is a OldTown VieII tandem. The Renegade I ended up selling it to my sister and the Tandem I kept for myself. The tandem I use for solo paddling while camping, can fit lots of gear in it. But the SOT is the one I use the most.

Playing in the waves is a blast the little SOT spins easily on the peak of the waves and so I can ride the waves back to shore. Maneuvers great,
and if you paddle "au Natural" you can get a pretty good tan too, which suits me just fine! Easy to put in the trunk of the car it's only 8' long. The Tandem SIK I always have to strap it to the roof it I think is 14' long.
I don't think I will ever give up kayaking.
Well
