Welcome to Midwest Paddling! I hope to make this a fun place for Midwest paddlers to talk about there favorite places to paddle and of course how to get there. There are excellent places on the west and east cost and even down south to paddle, but let’s make it known that the Midwest has tons of places to get out and explore that are just as breath taking.

I'm new to this site. Looking for suggestions on paddling the Ottertail River in MN. Anyone have tips?

Hello all,

I am new to kayaking, and to this site. I am from Chicago, and am looking forward to paddling through just about every waterway in the area. The Chicago River, while pretty stinky, was nonetheless amazing! I would like to kayak the Chicago River while it is being dyed green for St. Patrick's Day. Has anyone done this before? Any info? Anyone interested?
