Smith and Bybee Lakes in Portland, OR

These are natural wetland areas on the peninsula between the Willamette and Columbia Rivers. You don't know it when you are on the water but the are smack dab in the middle of our industrial lands.

We have many lakes around here over 100 near here. Okanagan Lake doesn't freeze, at least since the early 19hundreds Okanagan canbe paddled year round. That is the lake on the North end of town. Skaha Lake on the South end of town is a fair size lake and I've only seen it freeze about 1/4 way in once when it hit record -40c. Okanagan Lake is about 2 blocks from me so thats my most paddled lake. Some say only the crazy people paddle that lake in the winter. LOL I guess I am classed as one of the "crazy" people. if it was 78f here I'd be paddling in a heartbeat! If you ever come to the Okanagan Valley BC get ahild of me and we'll paddle!

Have a great day and enjoy your hikes!

Two extreme differences in weather. 78 F out here yesterday. Actually ran the AC in the truck driving around yesterday. No kayaking but did do some local hiking. Actually warmer than the norm but not that rare for Arizona.

Rick RE: Photobucket..

You can also click on the "Settings" on the right hand side below your inbox etc.. and at the bottom of settings there is a special private email address for you that you can use via Mobile to upload photos directly from your cellphone or even from your CPU that will post the photo to your profile. The email address will have your name and a number kind of like this.. "Yourname123@go.kayaking.com"

Another great program "APP" that I use is "itookthiswithmyphone" http://itookthisonmyphone.com/

' With a single click, you take a photo or shoot a video on your phone and it's automatically transferred to your personal, online photo gallery. ' I use it with Photobucket, facebook, twitpic, picasa, flickr, webshots, and others this app can be easily bypassed if you don't want to send a particular photo ie: bad shot or a private photo. Best of all iTookThisOnMyPhone is a free site, free app and free to use and talk about fast, wow take the photo and click enter and boom it's gone to your favorite sites, Too Cool!. =)

Have a great day!

Howdy folks...decided to take up kayaking after loosing weight. It lets me have more excercise. Bought a Pelican 10.5' and love it.
