hey just want to put a friendly caution out there. If you plan to go down a river that has a dam used to generate power (upper ocmulgee, below jackson lake and georgia power's plant) you will definately want to call for the discharge times of the day you will be on the river. This discharge can raise the water level by 3-5 feet and make the otherwise relatively calm rapids change from class II to deadly.....trust me, i learned this the hard way and lost over 300 dollars in equipment.

I have a Pungo 140 which I've decked out for fishing and fly fishing. I've added 2 rod holders, either of which can hold an anchor system. Everything works, but I wish I had more room for the tackle box and I need something to hold the paddle. It always makes me feel good when someone in a $20000 bass boat pulls up and says "man, that looks like fun."

Has anyone ever outfitted a touring kayak for fishing? I have a Dagger Specter boat and want to put a fishing rod holder on it. Just curious.

i don't know if i have caught bigger fish from the kayak but often i like the being alone feeling the kayak offers and the ablity to get to water not that in other boats i would pass by , i did hook a nice lake ontario king in the yak the other day for a nice ride

I have caught more fish than ever from my kayak. I don't think I will fish from anywhere else ever again.

I have cought more and bigger fish out of my yak than any other fishing boat.
