Jeff, Just FYI, it might be easier to track this conversation as a discussion, rather than comments on a wall.  I know it can be confusing.... 

I used to work at a shop that sold Wenonah, and it's a brand I'd put at the very top of my "brands I trust" list.  They simply make good stuff, without fail.  I've paddled a few dozen of their canoes, including an awesome trip down the Colorado river.  How big is your dog?    the solo should work great, but you might also consider the Solo Plus.  It's just a bit bigger, and would give you the option of bringing a friend along.

Hello paddlers! I'm new to the group and was hoping someone  might own a Wenonah Wilderness solo??? I'm thinking of purchasing one and hoped for some feedback on the canoe? I mainly paddle down small mid west rivers and an occasional lake or two. I have a kayak...Loon 120 and love it but my dog needs a little more room to move. :)

just like kayaking i love canoeing , gives me the ability to haul more stuff and is a enjoyable way to spend quiet time! another advantage is being able to take someone with you
