Surf Kayak in Texas
I am looking to get a fun kayak for playing in the surf in Texas. I've ridden a Kaos surf kayak in Daytona Beach and really enjoyed it. The waves were not much different than waves I have seen in South Padre.
I've wanted to try out some other types of surf kayaks and waveskis, but no one seems to rent them in Texas. I know I can buy a new one on line, but I don't use it that often so I rather buy a used one and save some money. Any thoughts or ones I should consider, where I can get a used kayak, or places to try different surf kayaks and waveskis in Texas?

Maybe you could try Austin Canoe and Kayak, but we really don't have much in the way of surf here.

I'll check with them, but for obvious reasons, surf paraphernalia is hard to come by in Central Texas.

My friend Rick (not the rick who's already posted, a different one!) lives in Texas. He tried to respond, but had some issues. He's a solid waveski paddler and surfs regularly. Even comes out to California sometimes for our contests. He was having trouble posting, so here's his message.

I'd be glad to show you around and let you try one of my waveskis. I have three of them for sale, all in good condition and pretty cheap, a Macski, Infinity and Tsunami. Let me know your skill level and what your weight and inseam is and I'll let you try one of them. Or, if you're going to be here for a little while, you may want to purchase one.
