I do kayaking in the Florida Keys so tides are important to me. Last week I saw an ad for an iPhone tide app called the Tidal Chronoscope. I went to their site and checked it out. Though I have a couple of tide apps already for my iPhone, this one seems to be the best one so far. Weather was pretty bad this past weekend in South Florida. But I decided to put it through its pace by driving up and down the coast. Its GPS based and provides instant tide information without any fiddling around. So, I drove up the coast and it updated as I traveled. It’s in the format of a tide watch which is pretty cool with another screen for tide details. And gives moon phase. And it also gives me the option of another location. BTW, cool featture I discoverd is that you can slide the detail screen and it gives 7 days of tide info. And tap the date on the dial, and you can set at anytime in the future to see exactly what the tide is. Can even pull the turning crown out at the side of the watch like a real watch and set for the future also. Pretty simple and to the point. Also has another virtual watch that gives me moon over/moon under and moon phase. Thats important to me, because in the Keys, I like to do a little paddling in the evening and moonlight is important to me. Anyway, its seem to be the best one so far I’ve tried. They say they have 9400+ locations. Solid app. Anyone else try it? Its called Chronglobal Tidal Chronoscope and their site is chronglobal.com. Good buy at 2.99 and its not subscription based like the one I terminated. So, anyone have it? I recommend it. I attached a few photos from their site. They say its coming soon for Android.
