Using Alaska ShoreZone to research kayaking trips in Alaska

I have been using a very useful website called Alaska ShoreZone to help plan kayaking trips in Alaskan waters. The site is part of a government project to photograph every foot of the Alaskan shoreline to provide a baseline for monitoring changes and to survey natural resources.It also happens to be a great way to search for kayak campsites and get a look at Alaska's waterways.Photographs are taken from a helicopter flying low above the shoreline producing high quality images that can be saved…See More

Restoring flattened fiberglass hull

I just purchased a fiberglass Seda Glider that seems to be in very good condition except for a flattened section under the cockpit--I had much the same phenomenon when I tied my plastic Gypsy too firmly to my roof-rack on a very hot day.  Is there any way to re-round it?  I'm afraid to use my heat gun on the area for fear of ruining the whole kayak.See More
